Could anyone be kind enough to tell me what your 100 watt panel generates on a lovely autumn day like today.I am maybe a bit over optimistic.I have a 120 and 80 connected together and in summer was getting about 8 amps in total but today between 4 and 5.My logic is therefore about 2.5 amps per 100 watt which doesn't seem much.I appreciate the sun is now lower in the sky but would it make that much difference?

Sounds okay but if your batteries are fully charged it will only put in what’s going out which could be below what is available.

Yes. This. It took me a while to realise this. Unless your battery is pretty low, it's not going to be pouring the maximum it can into the battery. The last bit of charge is just a trickle, so you don't need much. In the summer, by the time the sun is high up in the sky, my battery was mostly full anyway, so I never saw peak production.

I have a 100w panel and it is insufficient to keep both batteries charged through the winter months, I do live in the south of Scotland though so the sun is even lower in the sky here.
