Saw this Car Aid gadget discussed with good reviews on a Facebook group & thought especially with the cab handle function it might be of interest to some Funsters. We will be getting a couple if we have the right type of latch in our motorhome as could have done with this when I pulled a muscle recently!

Having checked our Transit door latch I have ordered a couple now so will be interesting to see how good they are for under £5 including delivery from China?! Feedback looks good online so hopefully a good product.

Coming direct from Hong Kong they took around 2 weeks to get here but exactly as in the photos,the handle has a strong thick aluminium core, excellent value at £4.95 each & they do work Some UK sellers are charging up to £15 for the same item so worth the wait.

looks like a good way to damage the lock striking plate if you weigh a lot there would be a lot of leverage on the door frame!

Better than pulling on the steering column & seat! Ideal to assist getting up into the cab putting a "handle" where there presently isn't one - we find it of use as Mr Womble currently has a pulled leg muscle Even if that function isn't of benefit it still is a glass breaker & seatbelt cutter for under a fiver delivered

I Sent for a couple too
They do, do what they are supposed to but differ very slightly, if not better, in as much as the cheapy one has a hardened tip for breaking the glass
and the dearer ones don't they are just shaped to a point on the £15 UK and $19.99 American versions, other than than that they seem identical,but I aint got x ray eyes.
Which ones are the Fakes I don't know
But I wont be trying out the standing full weight test on the chinese version
the "Genuine" Items come with batteries the £4.99 copies don't but that is clearly stated in their ad
Neither variety fits all makes of cars so check before you buy

Think they are all the same Chinese made items however much you pay for them! Coming from overseas batteries aren't normally included due to restrictions as "Dangerous Goods" on how they should be packed. We have pried open one of the our (Chinese ) Car Aids & the aluminium handle goes down inside the plastic handle at least the width of a large hand so we are happy that they are good enough & look fit to use as a "handle".

I have had a similar item mounted in my MH for some years. It was only months ago that I realised that, belted in, there was no way I could reach it. Rapidly resited it.

I purchased a couple last month and they have been great for my elderly mother getting out of the cars. Better in my opinion than all her weight going on my passenger door.!
