Van build

Hi, I have a number of bikes, mainly small capacity vintage Italian ones.
I am in the process of building a campervan based on a Renault Trafic. It will be an unusual build as it will also have the capacity to transport a motorbike in the van, as well as being able to use it as a camper.

Must be a bit cozy when the bike's in there, are you on your own? What bikes have you got and where will you go?

I will mainly be using the van as solo accommodation. I'm getting a pop-top roof fitted for sleeping in. Fitted a Kiravans swivel seat to turn the passenger seats around which adds a lot of space. The bike will be outside or in an awning when I'm parked up at a site.

I have a 1957 MV Agusta 175, 1958 Gilera 175 Rossa Extra, 1953 Moto Guzzi 250 Airone.

I'll use it mainly for short trips away in the UK, some longer European trips. The bikes love small twisty mountainous roads, and I enjoy the scenery!

I've not been there, but looks great. Spain has fantastic roads for bikes. I have taken the MV Agusta from Barcelona to Porto and have been around the Picos Mountains area a few times now.

There's a motorcycle museum in the hills near Benidorm, €4 to get in, you'd love it, loads of vintage models

The whole thing relies on being able to not fill the van with a single bike.

With something nice and light like those, it has to go in backwards on full lock on the side with the sliding door . I can get 3MX bikes in a Trafic.

Pop top is the key. You should be able to get all your living stuff down the other side.

We did a Talbot Express where the bike went in the centre, to travel, and we could get a bed in either side. When went to 2 bikes it got too cosy and we got a box trailer and a proper MH.
