Natural rock bridge over the river Ardeche for classic photos which gets very busy with canoeists in the summer.
It is possible to hit the beach up river of the Arc but quite narrow area whereas on the down side there is more space.
There is a big car park to get there which i have pinned and this is for daytime parking only and tickets have been known to be issued here for overnighters. There are several campsites about and a few aires. I would suggest getting there early and knowing...
The town has gone against motorhomes now but on the way out there is a place to park on the side of the road in order to go to the cable car.
Check the prices before you go up there as it is quite expensive (for me anyway) but worth every centime.
There is a camp site in the town.
Personally speaking, after they put height barriers on the aire, and me going into the office de tourisme to ask where I could park to be told "Nowhere" then finding somewhere, I wasnt prepared to stay the night so...
A town built around a rock face with Roman Catholic significance in that it is on some form of pilgrims path, but you may have gathered I dont know much about that, but really like this place with its narrow streets.
It is steep, very steep and this needs consideration before going though there is a lift to get down.
At times where we have been there it has been free but dusty with no facilities
Going for a beer and watching the sunset is well worthy at the bar from where one of the photos...
French village that is infamous for not having anything done to it and left as it was after the Nazis killed nearly everyone in the village in a heinous manner.
Eerie walking around it, people have said better to do it on the way home rather than on the way to your holiday.
You will be moved
Link to the background then do further research
Pin is where the aire is
I have marked up where I firmly believe you can park for the day. We parked on the road but we saw motorhomes parked here and saw ones parked overnight as well. If that isnt right when you get there please dont blame me. Otherwise its extortionate euros for a campsite.
You dont need to pay if you dont want to be herded round the interior with a bunch of tourists who get really really annoying with their selfie sticks looking at beds Louis Xiv slept in. I m sure its interesting to some but...
I have put the marker at the place we stay at. It is supposed to be a France Passion but he isnt bothered. There is electric there but not sure if he charges, I dont think he does but we dont use it. 30+ wine shops to wonder around, Storks a plenty on the roofs and it has its own stork sanctuary,
But the best bit is the village, regularly the best village in france and always one of the Beaux villages it something out of Harry Potter.
If you stay where we stay, try to buy some wine from...
3,000 foot drop with hardly anything to stop you going over on windy roads which busses go up. It travels n the North and South side however the best part is the "Route des Cretes" NB the one way system, its quite doable in a motorhome.
The pin point of the map is for where you start the Route des Cretes
Stay overnight in the aire in order to go in first thing and then you may have a chance, under normal circumstances, of missing the very annoying tourists with their cameras which gives you chance to get some decent photos of a lovely garden.
Payable so look to see how much. As a much vaunted FLT I paid and i didnt feel ripped off so it must be good value.
This is the best place we have been to in France to watch a sunset. The mountain is much higher than all those around it and was on my bucket list for quite some time before the conditions were right. If there is a light breeze at Bedoin dont go up there overnight. It needs to be still, it is highly preferable to be clear and it needs to be warm.
You ca park overnight at the spot marked, walk up to the top, armed with bottle of wine and watch the sunset, set alarm for 0200 hrs and look out...
No chance of getting here in a motorhome, Its pretty difficult in a car, just dont. motorbike is the form of transport or ebikes but it is out of the way.
Possible to scramble down to the river but its a walk, a worthy reward of peace and Q at the end of it. The road is best described as a balcony road, at worst it is dangerous, in reality is bleeding brilliant. (if youre of the same mindset) Worth looking up videos...
Another warm water river cascade known as a clue, that you are able to walk up in clothes and then dip in the water, in the middle of absolutely nowhere getting there in a van is possible but roads are narrow and plan your way in and out or take bikes/motorbike. Nobody else will be there and you can go up or downstream at this one.
A limestone walk in the middle of nowhere with absolute peace and Quiet. Possible to get there in a motorhome but check your route in with regard to heights. These are back roads so motorbike or ebike better. Once there, unlikely anyone else will be apart from the odd climber. Possible for an easy scramble then play in chutes of warm water. Walk up past the garage on small path. Bliss
Series of 11 waterfalls of varying heights over about 3-4km walk on rough narrow path at times so no high heels as have been witnessed. Cheaper to start at top and possible to overnight wilding at several car parks around top lake. paying if starting at bottom (south)
