Protyre

I have used this branch in the past and always been very happy with the price , service and efficiency.

Didn’t shop around as a result , booked a 10 am slot yesterday and paid on-line.
For my “Continental camper” tyres for my motorhome.

I had no comms in advance of my appointment to question the size of my vehicle.

I arrived at 9.48.
Reception guy was efficient.
Asked for keys, I asked him if he wanted me to move it to the bay , he said no we’ll do it where it is.
That was in the carpark on a slope and it was raining.
He said it would be an hour.

I walked 1/2 mile to a close coffee shop, hasn’t even ordered , at 9.57, the branch called to explain they would not be able to fit my tyres as the don’t have the right jacks.

My motorhome is 3800k, the rear axle , where the tyres were going is 2060k.

I walked back and asked why , they stated the jacks aren’t big enough as they are only 2 tonne. I asked if they only had 2t one jacks and they said yes.

I asked is they could do one at a time so only lifting one side of the axle which would be less. He stated that’s not safe as lifting one side would create some kind of “pressure”. Quoting safety as a blocker when they are thinking of changing tyres on a heavy vehicle on a wet sloping surface is a contradiction.

I asked for a refund and he advised me that head office would take care of that and I should get an e-mail within 24hrs.

When I left there were 5 empty bays and 6 fitters standing around.
