Reading through some of the reviews of this company (after I'd placed an order with them for a motorhome) I was girding myself for a rough time, especially as I'd put them under pressure for an early delivery date.
The van was ready on the day agreed although some of the small "to do" items hadn't be done and the "full valet" seemed to have been restricted to the outside of the van. The inside wasn't dirty but there were a few fingermarks remaining from when we first viewed the van which I would have though could have been attended to. However, some other blemishes and a paint chip had been done and I was happy with the standard of work.
There was some minor damage to the fabric on the front passenger seat which we knew about at purchase and had agreed that new seat covers would be ordered and fitted at a later date. This was the one thing I thought we might have a problem with. However, a call from the dealer about a month later to say the covers had arrived and would we like to go and have them fitted restored my confidence. A couple of other small parts (missing bulb, plastic catch, etc.) were also supplied which I thought had been forgotten about.
The purchase, hand-over and the support have all gone smoothly, so far. Would I buy from them again? Yes. I've not had any problems which would stop me from making another purchase from this dealer.
I will update this review when we have the annual check and service done - if we have it done by them.
Since using the van I've noticed that the (compressor) fridge turns on and off randomly and after questioning Dometic they think the thermostat is faulty. The fridge holds temperature but the compressor will come on for just a few seconds every 5 minutes. Anyway, Dometic asked me to speak to the dealer to see if they wanted to sort the problem or if they'd allow Dometic to send out an agent to replace the part. Lowdhams said they were happy with either option so, to save me a trip to Gunthorpe, I asked the Dometic man to come to me. Part is on it's way and I'm expecting it to be fitted next week. So, although this isn't a Lowdhams problem I was pleased they didn't insist on me returning to them (and they are probably happy they don't have to get involved).
