Comfort Insurance

I got a quote from comfort in March to add European breakdown cover. The original policy without was £380 in December 23. They would charge £82 plus £25 admin fee. I was happy with that but in no hurry cos we’re not off round Europe till June. Called yest to arrange it and they no longer offer the extension, it’s only available with a new policy. Slightly annoying as inevitably the premium has gone up and the whole thing costs £480. I’m down a few quid but the cover is better with a maximum claim value increased from £5k to £10k. I’ll just have to have a nice expensive breakdown. They didn’t charge any canx fees for my old policy.

Just a word of warning.
This only applies if Comfort offer coverage with LV as the underwriter.

If you have to cancel the policy for whatever reason after it has been in force for more than a120 days, NO REFUNDS!

I was with Comfort for over 6 years, until this incident, I found them to be easy to deal with and competitive in price.

I have just moved to Comfort. They were easy to deal with, clear in their explanations and much cheaper than my previous insurers or any other quotes I received for this year. But, with like for like cover - no corners cut. Plus I didn’t feel I was being discriminated against because I’m over 70.
