We've had three vehicles with them for four or more years now and occasionally have a glance round at competitors but never found it worthwhile moving. Recovered the motorhome for me last year when it went into limp mode and moved it again when the first garage could not deal with the problem. The only thing I would like to see is email notifications at renewal time as we were abroad for two vehicles last year and had to call more than once to get the notices mailed to us.

Companies struggle to find decent cover for our outfit. We are a 6L diesel, left hand drive American motorhome. We tow and large trailer and need "Business Use"

Because AIB are not tied to one underwriter they can shop around and always find us a good deal. Not used them for a claim yet, but i've used the breakdown service back in November and it was faultless.

These guys were amazing and in fact, they were the only company that would insure our Morelo (through Hiscox Insurance).

They are not cheap, far from it but, I expect, if I ever need to make a claim, I'm assured I won't have any problems (let's hope I don't need to make one in the first place). As this is our first MH I have not rated renewal or claims.

Also, I saved over £220 on the Hiscox Tracker discount so was pleased with that. See more on our blog

They did everything, AIB payed up. Job sorted and well pleased.

    First the good stuff.
We bought in motorhoming in Jan/Feb. I immediately realised that we would be away from home for the foreseeable future at that time of year.

Of all the Co. we spoke to, AIB were the only ones who offered to cancel our insurance in the Summer and reinsure for a full year so that we could switch renewal dates to when we were in the UK. So far, so good. Not quite.
While they were scrupulous in this regard, they would not do the same for the Breakdown part of the deal. You could say that was my fault for not pinning them down at the commencement of the deal. The result was we 'lost' about £40.
Then, when I put a 'Private Plate' on the van, the took another £25 off me to print another piece of paper. The fact that they got the Reg. No. wrong TWICE didn't enamour me to their level of efficiency.
After 18mths with them they then tried to hike up the cost without explanation.

I found AIB following a spat with Comfort, which arose when I discovered that their "365 days a year EU Cover" was hot air - turns out they used an Aviva policy that only allowed you to use your M/H overseas as long as it wasn't unaccompanied for a period of 36 hours or longer (I believe they may now have extended that to 48 hours!)

Their attitude was unhelpful when it was pointed out that you may wish to spend a weekend in a hotel, - "one of you will have to sleep in the van then".

AIB asked their underwriter to extend a policy to cover our requirements (up to 6 months - the legal limit - in EU unaccompanied) and this came in around £45 cheaper than the limited Comfort version. Renewal was about the same price, so I stuck with them

Found them to be very friendly, extremely cooperative. Whilst they suit me, I am a bit pedantic and I recommend that anyone shopping around looks at the small print carefully

Been with them for three or four years now.

All I can say is their renewal price is always within a few quid of the previous year so there is no need to bother wasting my time phoning around(y)
