Ask him if he got it a Wales, if so he beat me to it.
He may have? I'll ask when we next speak.

I know he's from Derbyshire and the van was previously used by a wine company. He said it's one of two Varios that Mercedes released that year in that colour. I'm quite jealous

Silly question how do you load the bike up onto the ‘patio’

I plan to use a ramp , it is quite high off the ground obviously so this might be a challenge 😁. Once the van is fitted out and has some weight in it i imagine it will be a bit lower

What are you doing about lights when it is fitted? Trailer board fixed to it permanently with a 7 or 13 pin socket?
Not decided on the lights for it yet ...but ill probably make a bracket and just fit some led lamps with a trailer socket.

We have a gorgeous Vario parked beside us atm.

2013 van in claret red and pristine. This will make you sick (did me), he bought it 4 years ago for £6k

Yeah the prices have rocketed in the last few years . Of course the more builds out there on YouTube , Instagram etc etc makes them more noticeable and more folk chasing the same vans. Im following a few new builds on Instagram now that i had seen the buses on eBay so i know the prices folk have paid for them and its scary.

Just a day of cutting and grinding out more unrequired metal today ...and cleaning up the interior frame for painting ....will be a few days of this unfortunately ....its dirty hardgoing and noisy ...but its making a difference . You may or may not see the difference between the side ive done and the side I haven't.

The rail that ran front to back on the side for securing the seats has taken about 2 -2.5 hours to cut out .. got the other side to do tomorrow.

Quite chuffed with what i got done today. Got the other seat support rail cut out , the rusted wheel arch covers cut out , most of the floor supports buffed up and derusted. And one side panel put in to red oxide primer. Will get the other side painted tomorrow and perhaps a start on the floor rails.

Looking well. It may be the boring never to be seen again bits but you will know it’s done right. Bravo.
Yeah ...the bus converters put zero protection on any of this so im just hoping to prevent more corrosion in the future .

All of the above. The red primer contains zinc phosphate. , The sides will be left with just that , floor gets 2 coats then hammerite on top. Ill inject all the sills etc with waxoyl once the welding is completed. ... Underside will be stone chipped

Another good day ....got the other side painted in red oxide and then stripped out the drivers seat and base etc to see what condition the floor was in on that side ....quite pleased really it was solid with just a bit surface rust which cleaned up well .... little hole in the front of the cab step but that will repair easily .

So cab floor has now had 2 coats of red oxide and ill hammerite that tomorrow so i can get the batteries and seat back in there. Coming along nicely

Looking good, I hope you can remember how it all goes back together
I have to admit the wiring for the batteries is a little confusing....the ones you can see in the pic is only half of them theres more inside the seatbox with a buzzbar and heavy fuses.. and the pos and neg are both black 🤷🏻‍♂️ everything is fairly basic stuff.

Can't decide whether to take the wheel arch of that front side and risk finding or creating more holes or whether to leave well enough alone as it looks and feels fairly solid under there.

You need Uncle Lenny to come up and stay over for a few days. Just find him a FLT spot nearby and do what he says!! ;) ;):ROFLMAO:

I listed most of those off Tam to my mate as ours is Iveco 2005, common rail so not quite your list.

My mate said”You have missed a ‘no’ off””
“Which one I said”
He said “No driving in any built up areas soon.
Aye it looks that way with city centres .. but then i dont often go in to city centres with the van anyway.
