Can anyone advise on how on earth you get to the Bari car ferry from the a14? Wherabout in the town is it, the road signage for the port is very poor.

I put the following into my satnav and it took me straight there

Thank you for replying. Are there two entrances to the car ferry terminal? I know of the one near the stadium referred to by Robert and it seems a long way to the ferry terminal from there. Is the one on Corso De Tullio right opposite the ferry quay at the north end of the port and gives access to the ferry boarding area?

That’s the main entrance for ferry traffic
It’s about 3km to the terminal from the entrance

Thanks for that Webby - it is confusing having those two entrances and such a convoluted route to the main one.

Whereabouts do you check in?

At the port with the sea on your left, you'll see a row of tall silos ahead of you, turn left there, the sea still on the left and buildings to the right, at the end of the row of buildings is the Ferry terminal (Terminal crociere) that's where you check in.

I didn't notice any facilities like that whilst there and there's none once on board the ferry either.

Might be worth keeping an old towel handy as the deck sometimes gets very wet and black with dripping condensation- helps to dry dirty shoes and doggy paws
Also you need to put your mobile phone onto airplane mode otherwise you will be charged for connecting to the maritime network
