Out of interest, what are the latest fuel prices in Spain and Portugal, and I guess France too, while we're on the subject. Not motorway, of course

Just left Portugal, fuel was between 1.25 and 1.35. Spain is cheaper, around 1.18 if you stay away from motorway services where it’s around 1.25

Oops, forgot, France last week was around 1.38

France is getting expensive now for Diesel.
SW France: Average price Supermarket is 1,44 €
Sometimes they have Special Offer "Prix Coûtant" then you can find it at around 1,38€.
Also price varies across France.

Saw one yesterday near SAN Javier and it was 1.07, two miles down the road and it was 1.16, it varies quite a lot between filling stations.

Haute Pyrenees (65), Just south of Tarbes.
OK, we spend a fair amount of time at our son's about an hour north of Tarbes, and we often go to the Pyrenees for a picnic or a weekend camping thereabouts. There's a lake, can't recall its name. Or Argeles Gazost. You can see the Pyrenees clearly in the winter but barely at all in the summer. Just the white caps, that look like stationary clouds.

Went to Argeles-Gazost last week, really like Argeles, a nice place, and 15 mins away. Lots of lakes around, so not sure of the one you mean. Poss Lac Payolle or Lac du Lourdes??
We are about 10km south of Tarbe, and have good views all year. A great place to visit and live in the Pyrenees / SW France.
Lots of snow now in the mountains...

Lake, not sure where it is since we always go in their vehicles, leaving the camper at theirs. The trip often includes Laruns, and doesn't seem far (from Tarbes). Argeles. Yes, it's a favourite of ours. There's the aires near the stores
and the first campsite, and the summer only one. Haven't been there very recently, but Gary might have more time this year, since the new extension is nearing completion. We'll be there in about 3 weeks, but aside from coming over the Somport, probably won't have time to tour.

Seen some talk about the Spanish Government thinking about increasing diesel by 28.5%.
Im afraid that we will all have to dig deep to continue with this hobby/ lifestyle in the near future.

Yes that has been kicking about for a while & is to do with EU & emissions supposedly.
In a country where 80+% of everything sold /ever sold being diesel can't really see them getting out alive ? :D2
A long way off though as at the moment we no longer have a government, not one that can do anything anyway, & after the upcoming election it will probably be another requiring alliances so we could be going along nicely to see whether we can exceed the 15 months of the last one where no one could agree to form a majority.

Trouble is it hasnt stopped the French, hence all the yellow vest protests.
No consideration for out of city dwellers, just look whats happening in London with the LEZ extending to the south and north circular and then eventually the M25.
