truma ignitor will not stop sparking,I though it does eventually light the fire. Have also noticed the battery box shorting to earth at both ends. The battery box and switch contacts/points are new as I thought that would solve the problem.

I would let people what motorhome, age etc as it might help with the diagnosis.

Best guess is the air intake is crusted up with debris and the burner face is probably dirty. It needs a good service basically but that is just an educated guess.
