Hi Robert! What are the fuel prices like in Italy ? Are you filling up on Toll roads ?

We’re driving on the toll roads but filling up in town. Paying about €1.50
Have seen it at €1.80 on the motorway

12 hours or 17 hours overnight depending where you decide to get off.
We’re getting off at Igoumenista at 6:00am or we could stay on board until Patras which is 5 hours further on

Monday - Ferry day (almost wasn’t)

Today we travelled 193km from Vieste to Bari

The road was slow, steep and winding and nearly ended in disaster when we were almost crushed by a speeding coach which we met on a sharp bend, on our side of the road.



As we approached Bari we saw some Trulli Houses beside the motorway.

These small stone built houses look like a large bee hive and are only found the in this region.

We’ve finally made it to the ferry port and are waiting to board

Was a little worried to see the burned out shell of an Anek ferry on the harbouside.

Tomorrow we arrive in Greece and we can finally enjoy a well earned rest.

Your second Trulli photo is taken in Albarobello I think? We spent a week in a newly renovated trullo in July, a couple of miles away in the countryside at Coreggia - great fun.

Glad to hear you've made it to the port, and avoided disaster en route. The Italians can be completely mad on the roads.

Well worth it I'd suggest - unique as far as we know. It's a UNESCO world heritage site.
