And just like MHs does a £300K MH give more pleasure than a £50K MH ? Just like the £300K MH, buy very expensive and you'll forever be worried about them being nicked.

Just looked at Swarovski ones, thought £200, that's not bad, i'll have them. Silly bleeder was looking at a carry case, the binoculars were 2 grand.

Brilliant.

And the other thing to consider is our age, our eyes aren't quite as good as they were.

I saw a video on the new essential HD TVs the other day, it turns out the picture quality is better than our eyes can resolve, in other words a waste of time, just a ploy to con us out of more cash.

A bit like stereo systems you can't hear half the frequencies when you are an old fart. :)

I bought a little pair of Olympus pocket jobbies a few weeks ago and for what I need them for I can't fault them.

It’s probably a good idea to go and try a few different glasses as they can fit your eyes differently some fit around your nose differently it’s down to what you are comfortable with as well as brand(y)(y)

A good quality pair for birdwatching, nature.
Anybody recommend a decent pair please.
We live up on the moors it's like a giant nature reserve, it's a crime not having good binoculars.
It’s funny that you should start this thread Paul ,because the last two trips we have been on ,particularly in Scotland we have said “We must dig out the binoculars to bring with us “ Jo is trying to locate them as I’m typing this.Havent got a clue what make they are and can’t remember if they are good or bad but we are off down to Cornwall on Saturday for 12days and we will take them with us if we can find them.

I have a pair of Bresser bought from Lidl for £20. 8 or 10 X 40 I think. Not bad quality for a cheap pair, good bright image with little in the way of chromatic aberration.
