A lovely van like that needs treating to some nice toys, it should really glide up and down serenely on Hydraulic jacks none of this plastic ramp smelly clutch stuff.

I know Vanbitz don't do hydraulics but just make sure you have a bit of cash spare when they have finished lightening your wallet.

I 'phoned Comfort Insurance today to arrange cover on the Arto and met a blank refusal to cover because it has no alarm or tracker. They won't even give cover on the basis that it is booked into Vanbitz to have it all done. It has to have both before they will put it on cover - how ridiculous is that?

I met a nice man from the NFU not so long ago and phoned them up and have arranged cover with them no problem. I just need to let them know what I have fitted and when. The only downside is that I need to arrange for some breakdown cover as the Arto is too big for their service which is RAC based.

I use Green flag for the cars so will try them as they seem to use commercial recovery specialists and I'll need to get some overseas cover as well.

According to the brochure its 250Kgs

We’ve got the single axle version and ours has a label on the garage stating 250kg too
Which I think is strange as our van was updated by N&B from 4200kg to 4800kg by adding air suspension, yet the max garage loading is still 250kg.
Makes you wonder where you’re meant to put the extra 600kg of ‘stuff’ cos there is literally no underfloor storage.

When did smart alternators come in and am I likely to have one on a 2014 Arto? Need to be careful planning out any charging and electrical storage improvements!

RAC Arrival thru C&CC covers mine inc Europe @Abacist

I checked around and the RAC are the only one I found who cover my length and weight so many thanks for your help and they don't restrict your length of stay but do restrict the number of claims per year which is not unreasonable.

I guess that weight restriction is for the sake of the garage floor and the chassis extensions.

on most vans its the support under the garage thats the limiting factor and possibly the flooring
