any advice where my dad can get motor home insurance at 82. He has always towed a caravan and just bought his first motor home but struggling to get insurance at 82 as he also has 2 claims in the past both not his fault one car was a write off in floods and the other someone claimed he damaged their car in a car park but the police knew this was a scam in the area. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Good on him! I guess he's tried SAGA?
Either that or he should find himself a 30's or 40's something wife who drives.( ;) Sorry, couldn't resist).

Might be they've been with same insurer since before 80. Think both the clubs will continue to insure over 80 if existing policy.

What he needs is an Underwriter who can look for him.
They will know who will, or will not sell Insurance to a person of that age.

Safeguard (who are part of Swinton Group) and AIB spring to mind.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Some years ago had problem with my mum's car insurance. When she got to 80 premium doubled, I phoned round and no company would take on new business for over 80's for a car.
From posts I've seen on forums there are a few companies that will do it for a Motorhome.

Tell him to try the usual suspects again next year.
He won't be a Newbie then.
