Hi all I'm new here..
The wife and I and 2 young children are looking into hiring a motorhome for 5 days or so before hopefully buying one in a couple of years. Just wanted a bit of advise really if it's a good idea what to do/not to do and things to look out for. I know you are all owners on here but if you can offer any advice that would be great. Thanks Jim

Hi before you hire, have a look at a couple of motorhome dealers and have a look at the various lay outs, what would be comfortable for you and the family then hire one as near as you can to that. Don't be over ambitious in the mileage you want to travel, trying to do to much travelling can be tiring.

Assuming that your licence only allows you to drive up to 3500kg it would be worth taking the extra test to get up to 7500kg, 2 adults and 2 growing kids with all their bikes and thing don't work well in a 3500kg max motorhome.

It's surprising how much you can fit in a smaller motorhome!;)
You'll fill it with loads of stuff you won't need.
Splash out that £15 for full membership, as Carol says and you'll learn so much from everyone here.(y)
