Hi
Mays usually a good month weather wise
Or has been last few years
Have a plan B if the weather decides not to play ball on Isles.
Lots of funsters on here that do island hopping and will be able to give you more details
Cairngorms are more our bag

Hello and welcome to the forum.
We first visited the Western Isles 2014. They keep drawing us back . Here's a link to some photos we put on here in an album from that first trip . You might find them interesting.

( I don't know if you need to be a fully paid up member , £15 a year, to view that side of the forum though. Worth it for all the advice and info you get , being new to motorhoming. )
We had our big motorhome back then. We managed to get about ok , but found our new PVC ( panel van conversion) , Pug, much easier on the following visits.
We shall be visiting again this September. We find 2/3 plenty time to go island hopping .

Hello and welcome. Not long joined myself but they do seem to be a pretty friendly bunch on the forum :)

Spring is the best time of year up here, no midges and sometimes two week stretches of great days; though you'll probably get two weeks of rain now that I've said that. :roflmto:
Mind you the weather on land will probably be a bit friendlier than what you're used to at sea if you've ever sailed those parts.

Good luck with your planning and your trip.
Andy.

We went in late May two years ago, enjoyed three weeks of sunshine, but as above have a plan B.

The Western Isles are beautiful especially if you get the weather. We went in June and were lucky enough to be only pestered with the midges twice. Lots of wild camping available (y)

Go prepared and take sunscreen, Avon Skin So Soft midge repellent, T shirts and shorts, wellies, a raincoat and an umbrella. Most of all don't forget your camera.
