Alabama Rot outbreak

Hi. This is an alert for dog owners. There is a possible outbreak of Alabama Rot recently, after dogs running through long grass patches of grass in the New Forest, round Cadnam, Totton area. 4 cocker spaniels affected with many cuts. The owner saw the cuts and open wounds when drying his dogs off. 1 of his dogs cost £800 in emergency treatments not including ongoing medications. He strongly suggested to avoid areas of long grass and scrubby ground. Please Google the national Alabama Rot website that lists previous reports right accross our area. Lastly, with this evil thing being around it is important to regularly check your dogs chest, legs and tummy for any scratches or cuts, and if there is an open wound, even small, clean it with sterile water and contact your vet immediately. thanks

I have a personal friend who lost his spaniel to this dreadful Alabama Rot, kkep yerr eyes peeled. Griff
