Somerset / Dorset road closure with 37 mile detour (1 Viewer)

Starting today (25/07/17) the 6-7 miles road between Yeovil and Sherborne is closed for a week; only a 37 mile detour if you really have to travel between them.

Surely it's less than 37miles if you go up the 303 turn right at Sparkford?

37 is the published distances, I assume for the majority not in the know .

That's not bad, when the rest and be thankful pass is closed because of accident or landslip the detour is something like 120 miles, and it happens quite often in the winter.
