our maxview receiver suddenly stopped working. one minute it was on then it wasn't !! hubby has checked it out and is receiving power ok but no response from the box, taken it apart and can't find any sort of fuse or anything that looks like it has blown so no ideas why.
So we have to get another one -- never found the maxview the easiest of units to work and have been looking at what else is available and it's a bit of a mine field so was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
don't want to spend a fortune (maxview is about £50) and there are other makes available eg Revez , Megasat but no reviews on how good they are or easy to use.
it must be 12v - we have a skybox we use off 240 on an inverter but want a 12v.

There are a few out there to choose from and some work with the old type sky card.

SAB Titan Micro SE HD.

We also use a 12v Pace Javelin SKY receiver which are long out of production but still come up on ebay every now and again. It would also be worthwhile checking the classified section as I think I can recall someone on here selling one.

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, have you checked if your aerial cable is OK?

yep - the sky box (240v) works fine from the sat lead.
although there is power to the maxview box there is no red light to indicate it is on and nothing coming out of it to the tv.

We like a lot of other Funsters have a Icecrypt S1600CHD, easy to use once tuned to a satellite retains the setting so makes life easy when swapping satellites.

Just got a SAB micro HD as well, seems pretty good with a very good picture but have had the picture/sound go out of sync a couple of times.

Using this seems to work OK and you can play about with it if you like fiddling with stuff like this can't knock it for the price
