Windows 10- Pictures (1 Viewer)

I download photos from my camera to Pictures and then sort them into folders.
To view them again I open the appropriate folder and then click on a picture.
This puts a large picture on the screen and I can then follow on looking at any others in the folder to review them.
However yesterday it started that when I first click on the picture it goes straight to Paint 3D- which I don't want.
Has anyone any ideas as to why the computer has suddenly started doing this?
From what I read you are not allowed to uninstall Paint 3D without going into "expert only" territory.

I am not sure how and why this App has suddenly appeared.
I have a laptop running Windows 10 and that does not have the Paint 3D app on it so no problem with that one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Look up "file associations".

Or, right click on the picture file and "Open With" .........

Download ifranview if you want a terrific solution which will set the file associations for you as a bonus.
