First trip to France in Maurice

Don't forget books like All the Aires. Great places and can be considerably cheaper than camp sites.

First trip to France in Maurice

Totally agree. Lots rush through Pas de Calais to go to places that are nowhere near as nice. 2018 we did local to Calais and montreuil sur mer. Fantastic

First trip to France in Maurice

A lot of funsters do plan but we hit France, park at Cite Europe for a rest (we travel at silly o'clock) and grab a few hours and decide whether to go Eastern France or Western France or which way to head. Drive a few hours and then look for an Aire or site (usually Aire) , stop and carry on...

    Refill Safefill in France?

Personally I think that will spread. Filling cylinders is not recommended in lots of countries

    Refill Safefill in France?

Sorry PeteH, I was putting my take on it. At the time I had my refillable cylinders fitted, I only got opportunity to use my moho a few weeks a year and only 2 in Europe. I wasn't trying to justify the costs to you but rather justified the costs to myself. Personally, if I'd thought I could...

    Refill Safefill in France?

I have no doubt that your calculations aren't exact and I had that issue but I took the plunge and decided to go for the Gaslow system. On my very first trip away (2 weeks to France) , I used (by refilling) £9.94 at the service station on the M20. Obviously cheaper if I'd filled in my area...

Refillable gas cylinders - with it for us?

Perhaps I've been lucky. I've an internal filler point inside the boot and filled upon France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Italy and never been refused or even challenged and the pump is started by the kiosk or by an attendant

First trip to France in Maurice

I totally understand using the eurotunnel. Pas de Calais tends to be ignored by people rushing through to Normandy or Brittany. I'm guilty of that myself. For a few years we've travelled on Eastern France through Champagne but depends how much mileage you want to do. Depending what time your...

    Rally Chat Gasslow and Calor

They can be separate but can't be used together. Obviously if that's your set up then use the Gaslow and keep the Calor in case of emergency. You can top up the Gaslow cylinder at your convenience and only use the Calor if your Gaslow runs out because you cannot replace or refill (exchange) the...

Refillable gas cylinders - with it for us?

Imo, if you've got the space, 2 x 11kg every time. It took me about 2 years to feel that I could justify the outlay but never had one moment regret and most years only a part tank used but it's there, fully fitted and so much easier pulling up, filling than humping a cylinder to the gas supplier...
