Not really had the time nor the inclination to update the journal.
October 1st. Booked on 1220 Shuttle to Coquelles. Arrived in good time at Cheriton and found half the check-ins closed with building work.
Went to pet reception and were offered 1116 crossing. Accepted. Bought coffee in Starbucks .
Loaded onto train. Left 1126.
In France straight out and decided to pay the toll to Abbeville. Stopped at the Intermarché at the former sugar factory.
All that is left is the chimney!
From there to the CCP at Formerie. We have stayed here before. Since last year they have added six more pitches to take it to twelve.
October 2nd. A longish day to avoid Paris. I always feel that Paris sits like a malevolent spider in the centre of its web.... waiting the bugger up your day.
Anyway, an off toll route took us to the west and then on our way to Bourges. I decided on the Camping de Bourges site as it was only €21 on ACSI. I know some of you will have heart failure at that price...
Good pitch amongst the Dutch seniors accounting for around half of all the vans on the busy site. Good facilities.
October 3rd. The destination again was a no toll trip via the geographical centre of France before going south to another CCP at La Canourgue just off the A75.
Photo taken by Mme Moto. The silver triangle is the reflected Cathargo trim from around the vents.
The CCP at La Canourgue is on the outskirts of the town. In the end as we were stopped for lunch on the way, I saw there were 4 of 21 pitches available. So I booked one. Luckily when we arrived we found there are actually 19 pitches and two of then overhung quite low by trees.. We chose the one that wasn't...
The huge Pilote arrived just after us and went into one of the tree
overhung spaces... it's actually sticking out at lot further than it appears...
A walk into the town for a drink and a look at the old town before back for a spot of self catering..
Tomorrow we keep on the A75 to the Millau Viaduct.
