Another belter of a site. "The Elms" A Camc CL. 10 quid a night. No toilet block but ehu , water and waste disposal. We are just by the village of Whittington, and visited the Norman Castle there. Duckpond. Feed the ducks. Nice cafe. Good car park. Weeping willows trailing in the water. Two nice pubs, FatmrG asking if "Ye Olde Boote" was named after me.
Not walkable to Oswestry so took the van in. Heat still intense. Eventually found a street parking space with no restrictions and had a walk round. Too hot to do much but we found a nice park and had our picnic. In.theory I wanted to see Old Oswestry hill fort. In reality we went back to the site and sat with our tongues hanging out till the sun went down.
