Left Spezet this morning and went to Cleden-Poher where we noted a 5km slog back from the canal we intended to cycle. Free leccy and water and loads of space but we fancied not cycling uphill. It was raining all day as well so location was important.
So we found this aire on the voie vert. Mael-Carhaix. It's new, it is on the VV and 4 km from the NBC. Free electric and water. Dump for black and grey, oh and 4 110 v supplies to charge your bikes by the picnic hut. 6 places (with overflow)
Town has all the amenities but church not open. Little PMU and a memorial.
Paula wanted electric bikes and rain shouldn't stop us using them. We have waterproofs. She was ecstatic.
We took the road down to NBC which was q. And a quick detour for la resistance memorial at La Pie before a very low NBC with no boats.
And wondering about lunch again
The answer came when we found some works going on and empty. We went up incessantly on locks and soon found the top and locks started descending. Then we noticed the maps. Hid from heavier showers on a couple of occasions and tried out our newly purchased 6.99 thermos flask for coffee en route. Excellent heat retention and appears a good purchase for days like today.
The sun made a brief appearance. Very brief.
Then Rostrenen going past the free aire and nice unusual statues and church with organ practice.
VV home was good surface and only 10 km but slight incline all the way. Needed to brush off the bikes as rain and compact sand ain't good. Rostrenen gare has been adapted to a huge petanque centre
