From our base at Benissa we dropped down the 850 feet on N332 racing the cyclists in a 60kph limit, sometimes losing !
We went to Calp. We left Calp. Definitely not for us. It was a city. We also wouldn't like Benidorm, it's just our preference, so we went along the road to Altea, where it was pretty similar along the front with an occasional beggar.
But we have read the jumar s threads and advice before and I had it marked on one of our (several) maps so we headed up to the historic town. It saved our day. Lovely white houses on cobbled narrow streets with views of the coastline, couple of lovely terraces in the sun, then back to Benissa overtaking the cyclists up the hill this time on a beautifully bendy smooth surface for a stunning view
