We are due to pick up our motorhome in two weeks. Thought i needed some extra information so haven't bothered until today getting an insurance quote. Thought since my van was under 40,000 didn't need an alarm. Well i didn't realise that the 40000 was based on all fitted extras! So no insurance unless an alarm is fitted. Well holiday is booked in half term, no spots free for alarm fitting until mid june( only go at weekend) Doh: Feel really stupid why did i leave getting quotes until now. If i had known i would have sorted it out. I can either cancel all extras being fitted or delay pickup ( not sure if that is possible) or cancel holiday and holiday nearer the alarm people. I was looking forward to going to the peak district over half term:cry:. All campsites booked etc.

I believe Eddie Vanbitz can accommodate motorhomes on site while fitting alarm. Could something be worked out between Eddie and insurance co. I wonder?

Yes it is vanbitz we want, so will try and see if it can be done at the beginning of our holiday. I will phone around for insurance just thought it would be easier to use our current caravan guard insurers. Any ideas thought of caravan club, not sure of who else.

Comfort didn't insist on an alarm or a tracker for my £44,000+ new van. Couldn't have been easier to deal with.

Thank you all ::bigsmile: yes comfort are going to be the best. They only give a 5% discount for alarms and they were an excellent price. Great break down cover ::bigsmile: so waiting for the quote to come through on email and then will go with them. This is the best £10 i have ever spent ::bigsmile::thumb:

I was talking with Comfort here at the Peterborough Show yesterday and they toll me they give 30 days between collecting the Van and having an alarm fitted to qualify for any discounts.
