Second visit to the aire, first time last October, it has just about everything, Restaurants surround the marina, which is where you park, there are huts selling everything from seafood to wine. The location is quiet, it's for motorhomes only, it has free wifi and with electricity cost just 7 euros 50 a night. But get there early!

Brings back memories It was one of our favourite aires. I haven't been back since David passed away.
Maybe this year.....it's a beautiful spot to stay at.

We were lucky enough to have lived in Mortagne sur Gironde for nine years from July 2000 - and still keep going back.

We live just a couple if hours away. The value, and condition of all French aires is second to none. We spent the winter touring Spain and you have to spend up to treble the amount of a French aire on campsites to come any where near close to the quality.

I don't remember having to move after one night in fact we stayed three nights, but it was October time. No stalls open and most of the eateries were closed. Odd pitches were rather soggy to say the least, you also have to drive round the other side of the marina for water and waste disposal, but it is free!!

October!!!! You really expect anything to be open in France in October?
That's about hibernation start time over here after the summer madness, when there is something happening all the time everywhere!
We too went last October and the shops, other than the cav and restaurants, were closed but the weather was good.
You can stay more than one night, we had only time for one night this week but stayed for two last year!
You have to drive most places to the waste disposal areas!

A firm favourite of ours but now everyone knows :Eeek: You can stay as long as a week or ? maybe even longer if you keep paying :thumb: Water is available approx. every 300 yds and we were told to dispose of grey waste in the hedge bottom or there are some available disposal areas on some of the water points. It is only the elsan that is on the other side of the estuary but there is a bridge.

Yes we like it also, one of our favourites. We are in Provence at the moment b but will call in on our way back. Must admit did not know about the free Wifi, but knew about the "fruit de mer":thumb:

Wifi connectivity depends on where you are on the aire but it's there! Have a good trip
