We usually stay at -

  • MR J L SMITH
    Ninn Lodge Farm
    Ninn Lane
    Great Chart
    Ashford
    TN23 3DA
Please contact the CL direct to book

Telephone: 01233 620908

This is a CC cl and is an easy 15- 20 minute drive to the tunnel.

There is no toilet on site but there are the usual facilities including chemical waste dump.

Once you get to the tunnel waiting area there is also a chemical dump and of course toilets inside.

We've stopped at Bearswood CC site just off the M20. Just a short drive from there to the Tunnel. :thumb:

There is Blackhorse Farm CC site which is very near the tunnel.

Pub opposite, but best avoided for food.

There is a C&CC site at Folkestone that overlooks the channel. They accept non-members. Site number is 01303255093

We've stayed there and it's a nice site but the access is down a steep narrow track with passing places. We did it in our previous van but I don't think id try it in the current one. If you have a big rig it might get interesting if you meet another big rig coming the other way.

But don't bother with it if you care about your mh:Eeek: steep narrow and rough approach, when we went there were two vans there with burnt out clutches trying to reverse out of it:Eeek::Eeek:

Never tried this but is there anything to stop you staying on the car park at the tunnel.
But if it was me I'd go over rather than staying this side and park up at gravelines.:thumb: or even cite Europe car park. Only twenty mins difference

Excellent site, used it a few times, but a bit pricey - cost £23 in March this year - 1 night on their ferry pitch (non CC member)

We stayed there for one night with our Flair, lovely site total nightmare getting in and out, I made my navigator walk in front so we had a clear run, grounded out on the top corner though.

Seriously worried about lean angles with 3.3 metre van, best avoided.

If you have a PVC or smaller van dont be too put off as it is a fantastic location.

we have a 3.3m high A class 6.5 long and never had any problems with the approach, might be different if you meet somebody coming the other way but thats why they time the arriving and leaving.

There is another place further up the high called Little Switzerland I think.

Sorry but what is gravelines and cite Europe ??

Gravelines is an aire in a lovely town twenty minutes from the port, one of my favourite places in France, stay there first night and last every time we go. Cite Europe is the shopping place right where you get off the train, about five mins and you can overnight on the car park outside the police station so safe enough.

You can't stay overnight at the tunnel - you can't turn up any more than 2 hours before your departure time.

There is a Tesco at Cheriton, off Junction 12 of the M20, where MH's often stay overnight and it's only 5 minutes back to the tunnel on the A20. it has the normal 24 hour opening so depending on what day you are going you could use their toilets in the morning

Park and ride, New Dover Road, Canterbury

New Dover Road CT1 3EJ Link Removed

We used this before the tunnel and it was perfect. Collect ticket at the barrier, the MH area is on the immediate left. Fresh water and tank emptying at one end and marked bays mostly very flat. Pay £3 at the machine the next day (clean public toilets just by the ticket machine) and away you go. 15 mins from the Tunnel.

The price includes a free bus into Canterbury if you have time. We plan to make time on our next visit. There is a really nice pub right by the car-park: The Old Gate Inn, 162-164 New Dover Rd, Canterbury CT1 3EL 01227 829951. We had a good meal there.

A nice quiet night and ideal for the Tunnel.

We stayed at Marine Drive in Dover, its only a short distance, we got there in plenty of time and put us on an earlier train at no extra cost.

For a fiver you can overnight at early arrivals just before the tunnel exit ramp on the motorway.
Far better to change time for later journey and stay in City Europe next to police station..

Don't see any point in paying 20 odd quid to stay this side when you can just get off the train and park up at cite Europe, all fresh and ready to go in the morning without having to rush about to catch the train , saves a day.
I would choose gravelines and wake up to this
