So it was our first time off grid and we picked a lovely spot in central Scotland, fairly out of the way.
Woke up to a car door banging and this... Broken Link Removed

You have to wonder what was going through his head?

One year. A whole one!
This kind of thing always gets me.

You park somewhere remotely, be it as pictured or in a deserted area of a carpark... and someone HAS to park next to you. Why?

Drives me nuts.

same applies to CL's....only you there, then someone arrives and pitches next to you when the whole field is vacant.

Human herding instinct.

Sorry don't see any problem, from the photo it looks as if the bit you are on is a park and in front a road, and he isn't that close to you, and has , as been said , a walker or something just parking up nice and neat.:thumb:

no and no ::bigsmile:

We knew he was there fishing, my point was that the car park was vast and empty and he chose to park a few feet from us.

this is taken from the other side, you cant see his car coz its so close to us

Could be that he thought his car would be safer while off fishing with you there in your van to keep a eye on it.

Having just read the thread about breaking into motorhomes, this was my thought exactly. Seems a sensible thing to do !!

I think he was a guy who USED to break into MotorHomes, he has now repented and has brought you this car as a gift by way of atonement !!

So just hitch up the car to your back end and be off, happy in the knowledge that you have helped a poor sinner !!

Curious,BUT since moving to France 14 years ago I have often entered a near empty massive Supermarche car park.
On returning to the car or van there is regularly a group of cars so close can just get the door open, rest of the parking empty.:Eeek:
Still not figured it out :ROFLMAO:

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
Baldeagle, they do that on Tesco's Arena carpark in Coventry, so it isn't just in France.

I've known us - here and on holiday - have to move the van in order to get any of the doors open wide enough to load heavy shopping bags into.

Cannot speak for the cars, but here is a thought re mh's

You pull on a site.
There is one or two vans there.

Question is, do you park as far away as pos from all, and risk being viewed as a miserable or anti social sod.. Or do you park a bit closer and risk being the subject of a thread like this ?

I actually have NO idea at all !
