Hi

Anyone got any suggestions what I could use to clean the dirt from under the panels (without removing them before any smart comments are forthcoming - you know who you are serial offenders) :ROFLMAO:

The dirt out of sight won't harm or spoil the view. Just get as far under as your hand will go with a soapy cloth or thin sponge.

Jetwash for under panels but not for the bodywork, car brush/sponge for that.

a bamboo "pea stick" with a small kitchen sponge fixed on the end with a couple of cable ties, works a treat:thumb:

Not that I've cleaned under my solar panels yet, but on my old MoHo I used one of these for under the roof racks and roof box. I didn't use the squeegee end but used the 'mop' type end. I have used the mop end on the extender handle for doing the whole roof on both - but I suppose it depends how close your solar panels are to the roof. Just had a quick look at mine and my mop head fits under my panels which are mounted on spoiler type mounts.
Mine is something like this.:thumb:

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the replies, just want to make sure I get all the dirt so the chances of black streaks are reduced even further. Will have to research pea sticks, I have no idea what they are! ::bigsmile:

Ahh its to do with gardening. That explains why I didn't know what they were! Good suggestion though, will have to try it!

simple canes from a garden center to grow peas against ( every ones got something similar in their shed ! ):winky:

any piece of dowel / thin strip of material will do.

ah black streaks, so you don't have a gutter running all around the roof to prevent that then.

It has two vents where excess water runs off but it can still leave black streaks. Can you get guttering for the roof?

A bottle brush and increase the handle length by taping to a cane:thumb:

Ha ha, are you sayings it's a woman's job? I haven't seen any ladies looking at this post so I will tentatively agree...

ps I'm going for a black one with the skull and crossbones on it, should be manly enough :thumb:

Greetings,

How about, a NEW, CLEAN, W.C. Brush (ie one that has not been used for the purpose for which it was originally intended). Long handle, about the right diameter and robust in structure.
