I had my RV upgraded to the PARALLAX 7300 charger but at present wont charge the leisure batteries from 240 volt shore power or its own on board Genny.

Only the engine charges the leisure batteries

Any ideas please?

Hi John, I note you say you had it done, not you did it yourself, that being the case take it back and be sure to check before leaving.
Just a thought but the regulator may be set too low preventing recharging are the max charge discharge points settable?

As Wildman say.....take it back. If you've had it done by a local auto electrics place then any of their guys should get it sorted properly.

Why not? Leisure batts are doing nothing and as long as your main battery is being charged during driving, i can't see what the worry is about taking it back to the auto electrician who did the job (or was supposed to have done).

Start messing about with it yourself and they may well use that as an excuse to blame shift.

Control switch

Hi,
This is probably not the problem: however, I had the same thing, and didn't realise that the control switch which chooses which battery you use has to be switched to the one you want to charge, even tho' everything works when the mains is connected.
Cheers

6.85 mpg is my average with the 460 ford engine but always tugging a car.

Just as well it runs on LPG now which matches the petrol mpg (40,8p a litre plus VAT from my supplier)

I dont hang about though.

Been on the US forums and they tend to bare out my MPG.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

All my electrics are working fine of shore power, going up to the storage to see look again at the problem.

 Is that taking into consideration the difference in the US Gallon etc?

 Just thought. You are on LPG and towing a BIG Toad. That would explain it.

Hi John,
On my RV there's a battery paralleling relay. I can operate it from the dashboard for a jump start but it also connects engine and house batteries together when a voltage is applied from the charger or the alternator. From your description I think you're missing a connection from the charger to the relay.

Regards
Doug
