Hi all,
does anyone know if the re-fillable gas tanks that you store beneath the vehicle can be fastened to the floor or do they have to be bolted to the chassis ?
Thanks,
Lee.

Thanks,
Lee.

They should be mounted on a cradle and that bolted to the chassis. The tank sits on the cradle. The weight is then carried by the cradle to the chassis.

Ours was fitted by a now defunct company direct to the floor by wood screws and the tank suspended from the cradle. Another van whose tank was fitted by the same company reported his tank falling off after refilling, so Chris at Autogas2000 offered to inspect the tank fitting and he sorted ours out correctly. See the add down the side of this page.

We now go for an annual inspection and he checks the "Stone chip coating" he put on the tank for any problems.
