Camping La Gorrofa, Almeria.

Why ? Character and location. It has it's own private beach nestling in a small inlet.

Ok, the pitches are small and it's tight but what character.

It's great we all love different stuff isn't it!

It would be awfully crowded otherwise.

The best site I have been on is a small site on Costa Brava , but many would call that a $hit hole as well::bigsmile:

Maybe nice being so close to the beach but sun is really restricted in the winter . I could not imagine spending longer than a few days

Since 2007. But no more.
At the risk of being labeled a Pedant,

There are no private beaches in Spain and recent laws prohibit construction too close to the sea. This means that the entire coastline is accessible to everybody. The sign "Acceso público a la playa", means "public access to the beach", and directs people when private land needs to be crossed to access the beach.

Just thought it might be useful to know.

Can you answer as looking to go away end of year and would like to understand. It says 32-40 euro's but I thought ACSI sites were set rates. This is just a general question and not just for this site.
Thanks Dave.

Still making mistakes! But they're not as costly.
We stayed there for only one night in September last year! I wanted to stay another day but Jacky was against it. Why? Flies!!!! Whilst sitting in the sun there I counted the ones on my leg in 10 minutes, there were 6,325 :Eeek:

It was 16 Euros for one night ACSI and the wifi is excellent.

So as much as I loved the ambiance of the place and the fact it is so isolated, we'll never go back.

Hi Dave , If you have ACSI it is 16 euros per night up until 1st July to 1st September when summer rates kick in ( on Acsi they are 26 euros per night ) Internet if needed is 4 euros per day or 6 euros for 2 days , the internet connection is sometimes good but that depends where your pitch is on site , You can have your EHU upgraded to higher amps for 40 cents per day . Hope this info helps . Ps if you ask for a Bono it is 400 euros up front this reduces the pitch fee to 10 euros per night and lasts for two years but only on this site ( Bolneuvo including summer dates .

Visited the site in 2006 but access for the RV was let's say ... tight.. :roflmto:

Anyways, we eventually stayed at Roquetas Camping for a couple of months before moving on to Morocco..

.Paul (my son) and I cycled back into Almera one day and I took a couple of pics from the road..

It looked fantastic location.. and an easy pedal into Almeria. Will definately visit again when we have a more manageable size camper

When we went, the site was full and the only pitch empty was very small, but you have to have a look, and the only way out was backwards................:winky: wish we had our panel van then. :ROFLMAO:
But yes nice position, but not the best site in Spain Brain, I think we are on it, had 3 months then a break now back for another 3 weeks. :whatthe::ROFLMAO: Bob.

Sod this !

Went into camp restaurant and ordered a plate of pork and chips.

Lovely plate of pork and chips with salad arrives.

Then we pay €18 per plate. F**k that.

Well we were well and truly screwed and then some.

Less than half that price in Villa Sol.

It is a cute site but don't buy food.
