When SWMBO is typing an e mail in gmail (win7) say she misses a letter, when she moves curser back it overtypes and she cannot put a space. Therefore has to retype all from that point on!!!
She is spitting fire!!!!
Any ideas please?
Does not happen in any other program.

Look on the keyboard for a button called "insert"or "Ins". Press that and it should solve the problem.

same problem on my laptop running win7 and AOL mail.

Miss a character then try to insert it, overwrites the next character and so on.

Bloody annoying and never did find out why it happened but it sorted itself eventually possibly during an AOL or windows update.

Hi,
It's likely that she's hit the 'Insert' key (located on the right hand top of the standard keyboard). Hit this again and it wont overtype.

Hope that helps

possible......the insert key is directly above the backspace key on my Inspiron and could easily be tapped by accident. :thumb:

Yes, that's correct. It's easy to inadvertently hit the 'Insert' key. Hit it again and that will sort it.
