Toothed gear (1 Viewer)

The toothed gear on our 1992 hymer 654 step has lost some teeth again,I welded it up and filed some more teeth on sometime ago and I don't fancy doing it again! Anyone know where I could get one from ?. I almost got one off eBay but was outbid at the last minute and can't find anyone (other than the obvious dealer ) to get one.peter hambleton say they don't sell them so help appreciated.:thumb:

give me some idea of size I may be able to make one for you.
Easiest way to repair missing teeth is to screw in some studdiing weld the studs to gether and file or mill to shape.

Thanks for the offer,but the gear is pressed out of metal sheet about 4 mm thick,it is in fact only a quadrant gear.I wii be taking it of this weekend and will try and post a pic.

if you have welded it before then see if you can get some hard facing rods and use these to repair the teeth or even some 308 stainless rods for tig welding it. if you use mig welding it makes the material softer so wears out even quicker

My 1992 Hymer has a step with the brand name of Hymer but these are made by Omnistor.

Thank for that,but ours is def.a hymer one the motor is outside the step area on the left hand side and drives the quadrant gear that is bolted to the step!
