Does anyone know of a nice campsite or aire within easy walking distance of a bus route to Nancy in the Lorraine region of eastern France, please?

Failing that, has anyone ever stayed at ‘Camping Campeole Le Brabois’, which is a campsite in Villers Les Nancy? It’s approximately 4 miles from the centre of Nancy.

DIRECTIONS: Exit A330 North of RICHARDMENIL & take D570 SOUTH towards town. In town turn RIGHT off D570 into RUE du LAC -- AIRE is at end on LEFT next to CANAL.
SITE DESCRIPTION This municipal aire is located on the western side of this small town, next to the Canal de l'Est - 650m from the town centre & 700m from the Halte Nautique. The aire is bordered to the west by woodland, to the south by the canal & the adjacent Moselle river, and to the east by the town. The aire is in a small tarmac parking area accessed off a one-way road, surrounded by woodland & lit at night -- a quiet location. Artisanal service point with drainage grid & separate electric hook ups. Pleasant walks /cycling along canal. Shops & restaurant in town.

Hi Rob, I just noticed your m/h , we had one of those when they were in the prototype stage , with 2 seperate tables one on each side ,later they went with bench seat down the side, loved it kept it 6 years.

''A good site Manager (at that time) English.... Enjoyed'' We stayed there 3 nights.

Lovely city. Mind ... the weather may have had something to do with it hot and sunny.

Thanks very much for info re aire.

Our Compass Calypso was one of the last off the production line. It was registered in January 1994, so has just celebrated its 20th birthday. We have owned it since July 2010 and, although we've had to spend quite a lot of money on it, we love it!

Hi folks

There is an aire (6 places) almost in the centre of Nancy at the Capitainerie du Port Nancy, Port du Plaisance - co-ordinates N48.692040 E6.193308, entrance is off the Boulevarde 21E Regiment Aviation.

Make sure you have full water tanks and empty grey and black tanks as there are no facilities for replenishing or dumping waste, although you can use the toilet in the Capitainerie.

From memory the cost was about €10 per night (2008) including EHU, so will probably be a bit more now, pay the Harbour Master at the Capitainerie.

It's only a short walk (10 - 15 minutes) into town.
