Does anyone know if Dell has any authorised repair centres in the UK...

I have a slight issue with my keyboard and I was wondering if I could get it fixed locally...

Thoughts?

I have used Dell under business warranty and they were brilliant! Just Google them, as best as I can recall you can get one year or three year cover.

I've replaced both the keyboard and screen on my Dell laptop - it has had a hard life. The keyboards are not expensive (<£30) or difficult to replace. You should find something on YouTube showing you how.

many many years! since I was a kid
it is literally a 5 minute job to change a keyboard.
unclip the cover strip
undo 2 screws
lift keyboard up and out
unplug the flat ribbon cable
wipe out any dust or muck
plug in new cable, which comes attached to the keyboard
drop keyboard into place
do up 2 screws
push the plastic cover strip back into place

it is that easy and a genuine Dell keyboard can be bought for under £20. if you were local i would do it for you

Make sure you put the cable back the right way up - easy to do it wrong due to the way it appears when you replace the keyboard. I did this wrong and took it to our local repairer who told me it is a common mistake. Costly mistake in my case:Angry:
