Sorry quite a long story.
My Motorhome insurance expired in Dec. The MH has been on my own drive since. I am moving to Ireland on 21 of March and have a quote for insurance from Ireland (Very reasonable) but this only allows me to have my MH on UK plates for a Max of 28 days before I have to re register it in Ireland. I think I need at least a week the other side to register it there.
I currently have a private plate on the MH which I want to put on retention but I need to have insurance according to DVLA, the MH is taxed and has a valid MOT.
Now whilst I probably could just about do the insurance with the Irish company I am not sure if DVLA will accept it and whether it will give them enough time to process the retention cert and get it back to me before I go.
I am therefore thinking of getting some insurance here and now but I only want it for a month or so, has anyone heard of any companies that provide cover for less than 12 months?
I know I could take out a full years cover pay by DD then cancel the DD when I no longer needed the UK insurance but technically the insurance company could pursue this and ask for the entire amount that I owe and I don't want to take the chance.
Thanks in advance.
