On and off for many years.
We'll be buying our MH and going away for weekends to start with. After that we'll be sorting our bucket list and going off for longer as we have more time and confidence.

When the weather improves (it can't go on much longer, can it?) SWMBO and I will be off to Devon and Cornwall, looking up old friends and generally taking the scenery in. We changed the MH last year and didn't get very far apart from weekends around S.Wales, unlike the previous year when we toured Scotland. Having been narrowboaters for over 20 years, we realise there is so much to see around the UK that going abroad is not on the list. Anyone else of the same mind?

Sorry for anyone stuck with the floods, no offence meant.

Late August going across the channel for six weeks, not sure where. Can't get used to not planning.

Have fun whatever you do, this is not a practice run::Smile::Smile:

On and off for many years.
UK for the time being (except for a business trip to the US in the autumn) but once sister and her hubby retire in a few years we'll be going to Italy to visit them. Sister's DH is Italian and he wants to spend his retirement near his family.

Off to Manilva Spain in 9 days to meet up with other funsters at La Bella Vista. Then slowly amble back up the med coast and back into France sometime in April. Meet up with other friends in Chinon in the Loire in May for a week. Nothing planned as yet for after that but the beauty of being retired is go when we want too.:thumb::beerchug::beerchug:

Obviously its an individual choice but motor homing in france is so much easier than in the uk the aires system makes just wandering a pleasure no need to book and always another aire just up the road if you dont like the one your at

Was getting insurance for Albania etc. a problem or are you buying it at the border? Ditto medical insurance. I would like to do that trip but not this year as by the time the builders have finished it will be too warm down there for us. Builder's finishing a bit linked to a starting date - which will happen when it stops raining!

We have to try to get it at the border for Montenegro and Albania - don't seem to have a lot of choice in the matter really. Croatia is covered by Safeguard.

We are off to France on Sunday for a fortnight. Down to Limoges, maybe drop in to see my sister in Carcassonne then back via Rhone Alps and Champagne.

Of we might carry on to Spain, but time is limited this trip. Just got a sale agreed on the house, as soon as thats gone, we'll be able to spend more time down there. :france:::bigsmile:riving2:

Off in april back at the end of September.
Travelling through Belgium then down to the Mosel then either down through Switzerland or Austria to Venice for 3 weeks. Using Venice as a base and travelling by train to Florence and Rome.
We then catch the ferry from Ancona to Igounimista and travel slowly to Meteori and down to Delphi before catching the ferry from Patras to Kefallonia.

Nice plan. Delphi - stayed here last year on our way back from Crete - lovely site run by extremely nice people.

Almost two years later - the longest trip we have done (time wise) is 6 weeks. And we have ordered a new van!!!
