As you didn't have a habitation service (which usually includes a damp check) last year you won't have any warranty now for the 'caravan' part of your MH as Chausson insist on it being done annually - it has to be recorded on their system by the service centre at the time for future reference.

Therefore the only reason to have a habitation service carried out now is for your own peace of mind. However, if you are only bothered about a damp check, then you should be able to get this done on it's own at a cheaper cost.

Central Leisure Services.......

I've bookmarked this mobile service based Nuneaton http://www.central-leisure-services.co.uk/. Not used them yet, and so I'd be interested how you get on [also living in Leicester] with whoever you end up using.

I've used them....... absolutely top drawer! Very thorough and efficient.

Mark sweated blood sorting the faulty door lock on my hab door, and didn't give up. I'd deffo recommend CLS!

I`m a newbie, now 1 year
We are going to have Cartabout Caravans for our caravan service, my MH is still under warranty so have to take it back to the dealers this year, will use CC after though, recommended to us by Sheila and Roger at the Newarke show last year.

I'm going to contact some of those companies thanks for the replys. The thread on dodgy servicing doesn't really help yes there are some dodgy servicing companies but it seems you can't rely on recommendation (look at some of the motorhome problems with different makes some find one terrible the next great) and there is no reliable industry standard and having experienced quality control schemes:ROFLMAO::Doh: don't really want one...we would end up with those who know how to do the paperwork not the job. The reviews website has a bit of a black hole near us. As we have a diesel burning heater I think i am going to see if any of the companies have experience in that area and probably go with them.

There is a scheme which requires engineers to be trained and follow standard working procedures. Its called the Approved Workshop Scheme, it is run by the National Caravan Council in association with the Caravan Club and the Camping & Caravanning Club. If you use an AWS engineer you can be sure that the engineer meets those standards and is audited.
