Still trucking and learning
Just planning our trip to Greece - leaving in just over 3 weeks.
We will be travelling through Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania.

2 questions:
1) It seems that we will have to travel through a very small area in Bosnia-Herzegovina (approx 12 miles). We will be following the coast. Have looked on the internet and it seems that this part of Bosnia is called the Neum corridor and may (?) be subject to the same rules as Croatia. Does our insurance which covers us for Croatia actually cover us also for this part of the journey? Our insurance company say they do not cover Bosnia Herz.
2) We are not covered for Montenegro and Albania. We will be staying in these countries no more than 3 days - does anyone know what the insurance will cost?

Thanks.

Will be interested to hear how you get on. We are thinking of taking the MH to Greece at some point :thumb:

When we did our Europe trip, we missed out The Balkans because we couldn't find cover.

However, Caravan Guard will cover you Fully Comprehensive in these countries.

This was their response to me about a year ago:

"We are able to extend insurance cover for Albania, Bosnia, Macedonia and Serbia. This is provided with the issue of a Green Card. You would be charged £26.50 for 14 days cover and £53.00 for 30 days cover. Please note that although we can extend insurance cover for these countries, we are unable to extend our breakdown cover. We cannot offer any cover for Kosovo or Ukraine."

We spent 10 weeks Wild Camping in Greece, just two nights on campsites for visiting Athens and Washing! More info on our trip here: http://www.europebycamper.com/search/label/Greece

Having a 100L fresh tank and a 90L waste tank on our Adria Twin, we were self sufficient for 5-7 days thanks to a trigger action shower and careful toilet management. It's not hard to find somewhere to empty once a week if you're moving on every couple of days. Garage forecourts were a good source of waste outlets - usually happy for you to use the dirty toilet round the back or the forecourt drain when filling with diesel. When desperate a campsite will always let you use the facilities for 5 euro or a couple of bottles of Mythos!

That's interesting to know for future reference as have only used camp sites on our times there .

Guess they need our money more now given their economic situation !

We went spent a few days in Bosnia while on a trip to Croatia - we enjoyed Bosnia more than the busier, more touristy Croatia. We bought insurance at the boarder for about £24 for a month (their minimum duration I think). We drove from Sarajevo to the coast and down to Dubrovnik and back North - both times going through the Bosnian corridor to the coast (to a small port). At no time were we asked to show our insurance documents when going through this corridor.

If we were doing the trip again, we would skip much of the coast of Croatia, go to Plitvice Lakes National Park to Sarajevo, Mostar and then south. There are a few nice coves etc to see on the coast and the Islands may be nice (we haven't seen them so can comment) but we enjoyed the route down to Dubrovnik via Sarajevo much more than the route back along the coast.

When I went down to Dubrovnik I missed out the corridor through Bosnia by using the ferry from Ploce to Trpanj. Saves that part of the insurance problem. Sorry no info on the rest of your query.

Have a good trip.
