I wonder if anyone could help please, as I don't seem to be able to find anything on the web about who fits Gasit systems? They seem to be set up for owner installations, but I wouldn't trust myself to fit a potential bomb to my new pride and joy! Is there a list of approved installers?

Many thanks,

Bob

You might be advised to talk to Dave Newell in Telford - not far from you and he is highly recommended. Dave is a Funster and offers a discount to members. I don't think he fits Gasit, but instead installs Gaslow or Alugas systems - the principle is the same. That way you can be assured of a professional installation (and a source of much good motorhome maintenance advice).

At list prices yes Gaslow will be dearer BUT if you compare to Hamilton Gas supplies prices theres barely anything in it if you total it up with delivery. So do you like red or yellow :roflmto:

Yes, the Gasit 11kg bottle is about £30 cheaper than Gaslow. Alugas are a bit more expensive again, but Autogas 2000 in Thirsk, who import the Alugas system, also sell a steel refillable RV Bottle that is under £100.
Why not talk to Dave Newell in the first instance and get his opinion - it will cost you nothing. Then, if you decide to go with Gasit, call them and ask for details of a fitter - they are based in Caernarfon.

p.s. all prices are based on list

Gasit 11kg £113.99 Hamilton Gas £114 where's £30?

Like I said if you add up everything you need with delivery I think you'll find there's nothing in it.

Just checked, Hamilton are post free over £100 not sure about Gasit?

And no one has yet mentioned the Fun discount you get with Dave. That might make the cost difference less

You could ask Dave for a fit only price for the Gas It system. That would give you a true comparison.

Our posts crossed - I was looking at the list prices of Gasit and Gaslow (which is £145) - hence the later p.s. after I saw your posting.

This is why I never consider list prices, the bottom line is what you have to pay. Always use Google and with any discounts check what price the discount is off

Another plus with Gaslow is they go to all the shows and if you have a problem they'll usually fix it for you. I took a faulty stainless steel hose to their stand and they just swapped it no quibble :thumb:

I'll second that. I have a twin 11 kg Gaslow system (fitted in 2007 by Edgehill Motorhomes when we bought the van). About three or four years ago one of the bottles developed a fault at the point where the take-off valve is sealed to the bottle. Gaslow replaced it with no quibble. They didn't even ask to see it first: just sent the replacement to Dave Newell who fitted it for me. Since then I have called Gaslow a couple of times for advice and they have always been very helpful.
