When I was away last weekend there was very heavy rain, no leak from aerial until I slackened it off to lower it and the water poured in down the pole. Have had a look up on the roof and all seems sealed ok so anyone got any ideas am I missing a rubber seal somewhere ??

The cold aluminium pole can attract a lot of condensation inside. It may simply be the case at this time of year

not missing a seal (it would leak all the time) but it may have dried out or perished.

there is a flexible plastic collar on the roof that the pole passes through. this is several mm above the roof level though. if water pools around it, the sleeve can fill with water, held back by the clamp. when you slacken the clamp, wayer can pass through

slide the aerial and pole out through the hole and thoroughly clean the apateur and pole. grease with silicon grease and reassemble. if the leak carries on you will need to replace the sleeve and seal as they are bonded together

Did it leak down the outside of the pole or the inside?
Mine shed water down the inside from the jolt of pulling it back down and being the long pole it was quite a puddle.
If it is the roof seal it will leak down the outside of the pole

It only happens in very cold weather when the heating is on.
Only happened once because I only use it if I can't get satellite so I just mopped it up.
