Easy to do, but easy to store away on your reader until needed in the future and they are not expensive purchases. Might as well stock up while the offers last. Enjoy your read......... if you are anything like me, bet they don't last until your trip:ROFLMAO:

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Funny how paper books are VAT free, but 'E' books attract the full rate...........:RollEyes:

Not funny......... bl**dy outrageous !!:shout::shout::shout:

Regards, Bryan
Why outrageous? We don't have to buy e-books if we don't want to. If we choose a VAT rated product when a similar VAT free one is available that is up to us.

You miss the point !

It is not a question of choice, but a question of why the product is VAT rated at all.

As to why I need to buy a rated product....... a matter of convenience, space saving when travelling and general portability..... why should my reading pleasure, in which ever format I choose be taxed.

Bl**dy outrageous!

Regards, Bryan

The product is VAT rated because it is not VAT exempt. Print books have always been VAT exempt because of the educational aspect but why should that extend to other formats just because some of us prefer them?

It's the same sort of thing with food. If we choose to eat in a restaurant we pay VAT - but that is our choice.

At this festive time it would have been nice to send Kindle books direct to family/ friends readers. Surely existing technology could allow this, particularly as Amazon's "Wish List" facility is set up for reading others wish list and sending gifts.

No doubt some techie/security reason rules it out.

Happy reading all:thumb:
