Just seen on Travel Weekly, LD Lines is planning to launch a new route from Poole to Santander in Northern Spain, with fares for two people with a car and a cabin @ £399.

That's good news, Britanny Ferries has got some competition at last. Their price for the crossing has always seemed very high compared to the old P&O bucket.

looking as a single out . for me going in november i could save a 50quid . but would spend a fair bit of that travelling to portsmouth . might be good for some though.
couldnt get a return price .
but yes good competion for brittany ferries .
one way 252.00 from ld lines .
with brittany 612.20 return .

I'll be surprised if it lasts a year. There's no money to be made on that route, so I guess they'll be getting a subsidy from the Spanish.

Brittany Ferries must have been making something somehow on the England/Spain route. They have been doing it for a long time. I would have tried Poole if I had not already booked with LD to Le Havre for the 5th Nov. Can't wait.

Just discovered that LD lines will be doing Poole to Gijon in the new year……..

6m MH and 2 peeps £568 return including cabin

Might get the sun cream out and take a trip down to Portugal
