My better half is somewhat short and often struggles to get in her side of the van because the step is a little high and she has nothing to pull on to help herself in.

Could anyone come up with some suggestions that may help please?

Thanks in advance :thumb:

Either put her on a rack for a few weeks or use the habitation door

Mike

Rofl...

But seriously I do think you can get an extra step for a ducato door. A cheaper option would be to use a hab door for step for her... Our one of those little folding household steps maybe.

I also have a wife that is vertically challenged :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Jan uses the hab door most of the time but this might be another option

Julie has the same problem, but has devised her own step out of a folding kitchen stool , a small plastic thingy, she has got a dog lead on it so she can pull it in behind her, or drop it out to get out, when in the van the seat is rather high because of the swivel under it so then she uses it as a foot stool. Maybe sounds daft but it works and cost about a fiver, it's dark now or I would have put a photo of it on.::bigsmile::thumb:

Derek,
Couldn't you simply be a gentleman and give her a gentle shove up?
It does have its benefits.:ROFLMAO:

I have offered John, honest... I've even offered to try and stretch her a bit, and I told her that I would buy the rope to save her the trouble...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We also have a pink plastic stool by the habitation door

For mrs t to Ingres or egress

And for the copilot seat a foot rest left in by the dealer

The one and only favour by them

We have a small step that we keep inside the motorhome as with the arthritis I often have this problem too.

Measure the gap between the current step and ground level.

Then if you just need one extra step, halve it and you have a rough maximum height of the portable step you need to buy.

Hope this helps

I`m a newbie, now 1 year
I take a disabled friend out, and she can only get in the cab with the help of a caravan step, which I always have in the Motorhome, as I use it to get in the habitation side, my friend cannot get in that door, to get out the cab step is too high, so I carry a 14" square piece of planed wood just about 2" high , which I keep under the seat when I know she will be coming out with me, and she can get out with that but not in, she has very bad knees, we find this works, a folding one I wouldn`t trust, need to feel secure, I`ve already had one accident, and paying the price.
