Have just returned from a few days in Paris for the Christmas markets. We stayed at the above Camp Site as we had stayed there 10 or more years ago. It is the site nearest to Central Paris. Since then the site has been taken over and many things have changed.
There are a large number of pitches occupied by static units, though still a large number of pitches suitable for motorhomes.
Good Points.
The nearest site to the Centre of Paris.
Most pitches have individual EHU, water supply and grey water disposal.
Electricity is 13 amps, essential for winter heating.
A Shuttle Bus service runs from the site to the nearest Metro Station.
A regular bus service is avaiable within a five minute walk.
Good quality bread, croissants etc. are available from the Epicerie on site.
The site is on the banks of the Seine and in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne.
BAD POINT
The Motorhome service point is also the only place for toilet waste tank disposal and is used by MHs and Caravans.
The disposal point is an open grating in the middle of a concrete pad.
The "fresh" water hose is left lying on the ground between uses. When I viewed the area the water hose was actually tucked inside the sewer grating.
A Belgian MHomer on the next pitch to me said the service point "is always suspect".
I pointed this out to reception and reported it on their on-line "satisfaction survey".
Nevertheless, the good points outweigh the bad if you top up your water from the individual pitch provision, dispose of your grey waste in the pitch drain and only visit the MH point to empty the cassette.
Happy Christmas.
