Newbies from Rye in Sussex (1 Viewer)

Hi all, just registered with your brilliant site, we are Steve and Pat, in our 50's Recently brought our first motorhome (Peugeot Starfire 2008) We are not quite newbies, having hired in the past. Hoping to head off around Europe in September 2014 for a six month trip (that's if we can both pluck up the courage to give up our part time jobs plumber/veterinary receptionist) taking in France, Spain and maybe heading over to Morocco, we are looking forward to joining in at some of the camping events to meet up with fellow campers and pick up any advise from you more seasoned travellers. Looking forward to hearing from you Steve Pat

Welcome - we found six months an excellent period to be touring - then six months at home to catch up before the travel bug strikes again. Both my books relate to six-month winter travels.

There are lots of different people on here form newbies to really experienced motorhomes.

I bet youre excited it owning your first motorhome, the freedom it gives is marvellous.

We spend a lot of time in Kent, about 7 miles from Rye.

Europe is fab for motorhoming, especially the france and german aires, and a lot of motorhomers go to Spain, Portugal and Morocco for the winter.

Anything you need to know just ask.

I went to school in Rye, Thomas Peacock IIRC,

Hello and welcome, lived not far from you until I moved to Wales. Rye is a lovely place, loved going round the junk shops and stopping for afternoon tea. Fond memories.
